HEALTH 健康

This is what the dictionary says:
1. The general condition of the body or mind with reference to soundness and vigor: good health; poor health.
2. soundness of body or mind; freedom from disease or ailment: to have one's health; to lose one's health.
I find that incomplete. I'd rather define health something like this:
The physical and psychological balance of need fulfillment resulting in optimal performance ability.
What does that mean?
It's like this. On the physical side we need a balance of activity and rest. We need a balance of different kinds of foods. These needs must be fulfilled in a balanced way - not too much and not too little. But, sometimes we need more of one than the other for optimal performance. For example, sometimes we need to be hungry to clean out our system - sometimes after extreme physical activities we need to eat more. Sometimes we need to work when we're tired to expand our limits. Sometimes we need a vacation. So, we need to put in major and minor cycles on each side of the balance. How can we measure health in this definition? Only by measuring performance. Optimal performance occurs when all balances are right.
The same is true for psychological needs. We need both social activity and time alone. We need intellectual stimulation, and time to relax our minds. Sometimes we need to be pushed to achieve high levels of ability, and sometimes we need sleep.
Also, I think there is some relationship between physical and psychological health.
True, some people with horrible physical diseases are very healthy psychologically, and some people who are very healthy physicaly are really crazy, but generally speaking, most of the time I think it's true: Healthy body, healthy mind.
Finally I'd add that health is more than "freedom from disease." It's a gestalt thing. Health is freedom from disease plus... being happy, and having the extra energy we need to have fun, and work hard.
Sorry dictionary writers... I don't always agree with your simplistic definitions!
